Policy support and standard improvement provide a solid guarantee for the development of the LED display industry. Since 2025, the implementation of a number of domestic industry standards and the optimization of international trade policies have promoted the simultaneous growth of China's LED display market scale and export volume, and the industry development environment continues to improve.
In terms of domestic standards, the "General Specification for LED Displays" (SJ/T 11141-2025) was officially implemented on August 1, which clearly defines the classification standards for fine-pitch (1.00-2.50 mm) and ultra-fine-pitch (0.30-1.00 mm) LED displays for the first time, and refines the requirements for key indicators such as brightness, contrast ratio and power consumption, providing a unified basis for industry quality control. For the film industry, the National Film Administration issued the "Notice on the Development and Standardization of Digital Film LED Cinemas", providing support from three aspects: construction standards, testing services and content production. As of November, more than 200 LED cinemas have been built nationwide, with a market scale of 36 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 60%.
International trade policies have ushered in positive news. Since May, the US tariff on Chinese LED display products has been reduced from a maximum of 145% to 30%, and China has simultaneously reduced the tariff on related US products to 10%. The two-way tariff adjustment has promoted the recovery of Sino-US LED display trade. In September, India reduced the GST rate on Active LED screens from 28% to 18%, further opening up the Indian digital advertising display market. Policy dividends have driven export growth, and the export value of China's LED screens in the first three quarters of 2025 increased by 17.8% year-on-year, hitting a record high.
Market data shows that the global LED display market scale is expected to reach 7.52 billion US dollars in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%. China's market output value stands at 48.6 billion yuan, continuing to occupy a leading position in the world. In segmented fields, the output value of COB displays is expected to reach 815 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 25%. The unit cost of transparent LED screens has decreased by 43% compared with 2022, with the price per square meter dropping to 12,000-18,000 yuan, accelerating the application penetration in commercial retail, architectural decoration and other scenarios.
Industry experts said that the dual guarantee of policies and standards will promote the transformation of the LED display industry from "high-speed growth" to "high-quality development". Combined with technological innovation and scenario expansion, the industry's future growth potential is promising.
